Kafka’s Picture

I went walkin’ in a photograph of the southside of a mountain
Down a twisted country path past a rainbow fountain
Verandah floor - through a door
Down a hall - then I saw
Kafka’s picture hangin’ on your wall

Under Alpha Centauri you told me the story
Of bad versus good and the lady who sings

“Sing, silver strings let me hold your hollowness
“Sing, silver strings, let me hold your hollowness
“In my arms once again”

I woke up in a photograph of a room without a view
On the downside of a city in a bed beside you
I turned to touch I felt you fall
Just my luck then I saw
Kafka’s picture hangin’
On your wall
